Civil Engineering Intern

SLAM has an opportunity for a Civil Engineering Intern to join the Orlando office. For consideration candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of experience producing civil construction drawings for demolition and erosion control, site grading and drainage and utility design. Experience with drainage and stormwater management calculations and understanding of regulatory requirements is preferred.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Collaborate with staff to advance project objectives.
• Develop and express strong planning and design concepts.
• Translate design concepts into AutoCad Civil 3D based technical drawings and specifications.
• Support marketing and sales efforts.

Key Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communications skills; able to interact daily with clients/owners, contractors and coordinate designs with architects and other engineers.
• Strong technical skills with site layout, grading/surface drainage, utility design and construction detailing.
• Multi-media 2D and 3D design and documentation skills including proficiency with AutoCad Civil 3D, AutoTURN and Microsoft programs.
• Ability to work independently with proficient organizational and time management skills.

Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering and participation in professional organizations is preferred.
