SLAM Elevates Two to Leadership Positions & Promotes 29 Others

SLAM is pleased to announce the promotion of two individuals: Rick Herzer, AIA, LEED AP to Managing Principal of Design and Director of Sustainability and Robert Zygmunt, PE to Principal and Shareholder. Additional promotions within the firm include sixteen staff to Senior Associate and thirteen staff to Associate.

SLAM names west coast president, east coast chairman

GLASTONBURY, CT, June 1, 2022 – SLAM (The S/L/A/M Collaborative) announces today that Gregory “Greg” Coles, AIA, principal, has been named President of the firm and is located in the Los Angeles, California office, and Terri Finucane, IIDA, principal, has been named Chairman of the Board and is located at the headquarters in Glastonbury, Connecticut.  Both outgoing President Robert Pulito, AIA, and Chairman Richard Connell, FAIA, will remain on the board and active in the day-to-day business of serving clients.

First look at new Torrington Middle School and High School

GLASTONBURY, CT, May 17, 2022 – SLAM (The S/L/A/M Collaborative), architect, working in partnership with Torrington Public Schools (TPS), the City of Torrington, owner representative Construction Solutions Group (CSG) of East Hartford, and construction manager O&G Industries, are expected to break ground this summer on one of the largest and transformative building initiatives in Torrington’s recent history. Today, the team unveils to the community at large, the future Torrington Middle School and High School. The building’s exterior design features a modern curtainwall infusing abundant natural light and a brick façade that harkens back to the region’s rich beginnings as industrial leaders. The interior spaces will foster hands-on learning, creating, and discovering that will pave the way for a prepared workforce or students of higher education.

SLAM wins three CBC Project Team Awards

GLASTONBURY, CT., May 10, 2022 – SLAM (The S/L/A/M Collaborative) has been recognized by the Connecticut Building Congress (CBC) for three Project Team Awards, winning for outstanding building projects in the healthcare and education markets that exemplify teamwork excellence and best practices by project owners, architects, engineers, constructors, and trades. The CBC Project Team Awards will be presented on June 14, 2022, at The Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville, CT.

SLAM and Perkins&Will unveil community healthcare hub in suburban mall

(Rochester, N.Y) – Architect of record SLAM (The S/L/A/M Collaborative), along with project partner and design architect Perkins&Will, unveil plans for the new University of Rochester Orthopaedics & Physical Performance Center. Phase one of the outpatient campus will be located in a former Sears retail space at the Marketplace Mall in Henrietta, New York. Once complete, it will be one of the largest outpatient orthopaedics facilities in the Northeast.
