SLAM celebrates team talent, promotes 25

Glastonbury, CT., December 21, 2021 – SLAM (The S/L/A/M Collaborative) is pleased to announce that 26 team members have been promoted, seven to Associate Principal, seven to Senior Associate, and twelve to Associate.

7 Associate Principals

Kathy Bell, AIA, ACHA, a resident of Vernon, CT, is a senior healthcare planner and research/educational coordinator with more than 35 years of professional experience serving the firm’s national healthcare practice. Her expertise is in master planning, programming, and planning for hospitals and outpatient facilities, some recognized with an ASHE Vista Award. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Tennessee and Bachelor of Science from Clemson University. She is a Board-Certified Healthcare Architect, as a member of the American College of Healthcare Architects, ACHA, and has Lean Healthcare Certification.

Roderick L. “Rick” Bouchard, Jr., AIA, a resident of Southington, CT, is a registered architect, and serves as the Management and Operations Lead – Healthcare and Corporate on the firm’s Studio Core Leadership Team. As a project architect, Rick brings a technical expertise and management to an assortment of projects and teams for the firm’s corporate, education, healthcare, and sports practices.  He has led notable sports projects such as the Dunkin Donuts Park in Hartford, CT, University of Notre Dame Remick Family Hall, and BELIMO Americas North American headquarters. Rick holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Arizona State University and an Associate in Architecture Engineering Technology from Wentworth Institute of Technology.

Marc Clear, AIA, LEED AP, BD+C, a resident of Atlanta, GA, is a registered architect with more than 17 years of professional experience across all aspects of the design and construction phases. He was recently named Sports Practice Leader, collaborating with a team of design and business development professionals, primarily focused on studio and project management, business growth, and client engagement in the Sports Market. Marc is a member of the American Institute of Architects and holds a Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Arts – Architecture from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Fred Godbolt, AIA, LEED AP, a resident of Smyrna, GA, is a registered architect with more than 18 years of professional experience serving as project manager, project architect, and construction administrator for programmatic and technically complex higher education and healthcare projects.  Fred holds a Master of Architecture from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Virginia. At SLAM, he has been involved in efforts with the GREEN Team and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Group. 

Eleana Lynch, NCIDQ, IIDA, LEED AP, WELL AP, a resident of West Hartford, CT, joined SLAM in 2007, and currently serves as a licensed interior designer leading projects in the higher education market with a specialization in interiors for medical education facilities nationwide. She is a member of the International Interior Designers Association, a LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), and a WELL Accredited Professional, enabling her to create interior spaces that enhance the health and well-being of its users. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Fordham University and a Master of Arts in Interior Design from Savannah College of Art & Design. 

Karen Glass Parzych, AIA, NCARB, a resident of West Hartford, CT, is a registered architect, joining SLAM in 2013, and serves as the Markets Lead – Education on the firm’s Studio Core Leadership Team.  As project architect in the higher education market, Karen offers an expertise in programming and planning medical and health sciences education facilities, including inter-professional immersive simulation suites, interactive active learning classrooms, as well as traditional and virtual anatomy labs. Karen is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Society for Simulation in Healthcare. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University with a Minor in Leadership & Social Change.

John Stergakis, a resident of Newington, CT, joined SLAM in 2000, and serves as Chief Information Officer, leading a team of IT professionals. John brings more than 30 years of experience in Information Technology, 22 years with SLAM, overseeing and developing IT strategies and processes that support the firm’s goals and promote continued national growth. He is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and completed coursework in management information systems.  Prior to SLAM, John managed a team of Systems Engineers for a federal government agency.
