Campus Master Plan

Following the successful design and construction of an award-winning expansion to the University’s Art School and a dorm renovation, SLAM was selected to provide a campus master plan for the University’s multi-faceted locations serving 7,400 students as well as the concurrent design and construction of an addition to a central academic building on the main campus.

Desired Result: The primary master plan goals for the 350-acre main campus and ancillary satellite campus include:

  • Develop master plan to meet projected needs through year 2020;
  • Assessing requirements for physical growth to meet projected needs;
  • Determining optimal space utilization to maximize current assets;
  • Determining development density of main campus;
  • Identifying highest and best use of University-owned undeveloped lands;
  • Perpetuating campus renewal, seeking ways to continue to enhance the campus setting and facilities;
  • Identifying opportunities and goals for sustainable design, communication, pedagogy and facility;
  • Addressing new major secondary campus access drive for functional and aesthetic requirements.
