  • to accommodate the newly structured Development of Western Civilization Program as well as offices for the School of Arts & Sciences, the Center for the Study of Humanities, the Liberal Arts Honors Program, and the Departments of English and History
  • to design a solution that includes contemporary references to neo-gothic architecture
  • to include a connection to the Phillips Library and the Science complex

  • The building creates a new home for the Humanities, providing 63,000 square feet of additional space.
  • The site is located between the science laboratories and the Phillips Library, to which it is linked by a glass passageway.
  • The building’s Collegiate Gothic architectural style highlights its affinity with Harkins and Aquinas Halls, the first – and most distinctive – buildings designed for Providence College
