Bill Karanian, AIA, ACHA of The S/L/A/M Collaborative (SLAM) served as a jury member for the annual American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA) 2015 Legacy Project Awards. The Legacy Project Award honors groundbreaking healthcare projects that redefined the understanding of a hospital or clinic’s potential and introduced innovations or supported breakthrough delivery of care concepts. ACHA Certificants can nominate one of these transformative projects completed and in operation on or before the year 2000 for recognition as a Legacy Project. This award recognizes healthcare architecture that has and continues to demonstrate superior planning and excellence in design performance over an extended period of time, and remains of enduring significance. The American College of Healthcare Architects provides board certification for architects throughout the United States and Canada who practice as healthcare specialists. Its mission is to distinguish healthcare architects through certification, experience and rigorous standards, with a vision to transform healthcare through better built environments.
